Owen Brown is Visiting Assistant Professor of Global Politics in the Department of Politics at Scripps College.

My work is located at the intersection of international relations and political theory, and focuses on the interconnections between race, colonialism, and international politics. My research focuses on the politics of (international) ordering and examines the ways in which orders are constituted and contested across a range of contexts. Both my research and teaching are motivated by the importance of approaching the social and political world from a perspective of critical reflexivity in order to better understand the structures and practices that shape and limit political thought and action, and our place in relation to them.
