Owen Brown is Visiting Assistant Professor of Global Politics in the Department of Politics at Scripps College.
My work, located at the of intersection of international relations, political theory, and history, is focused on better understanding the sources and consequences of hierarchy and inequality in global politics, with a particular emphasis on the interconnections between race, colonialism, and global politics. My current research is centred on the politics of (international) ordering and examines the ways in which orders are constituted and contested across a range of contexts. In both my research and teaching, I adopt an interdisciplinary approach that aims to diversify the range of voices and perspectives, issues and concerns that are considered relevant to and important in international relations, global politics, and political theory.
