Teaching.

Teaching Philosophy.

My approach to teaching is centred around creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where students are able to hone their existing abilities and develop new skills. Through this approach, I aim not only to encourage students to ask questions of the world around them, but also give them the tools to critically reflect on and engage with it, regardless of the paths they take after graduation. Both by creating welcoming and inclusive classroom communities and by incorporating a wide range of perspectives, I work to ensure that my teaching is responsive to students of all backgrounds. By creating inclusive learning environments that centre diversity, my goal is to integrate and supplement the acquisition of knowledge on the part of the students with the development of skills, abilities, and attitudes that will be of use to them both inside the classroom and in the diverse world outside it. I have had the opportunity to refine and apply this approach in numerous contexts—as course instructor, thesis supervisor, workshop leader, and through pedagogical training programmes—and have developed several strategies for putting this approach into practice.
